Empty Nest
Saturday was a busy day as we packed the trailer and three cars to move our youngest daughter to her new apartment just off campus of USM in Hattiesburg. Rain was threatened so we had the biggest tarp we could find in the garage and about 10 bungie cords holding it down covering the furniture. Now I should mention that the tarp and the bungies were probably older than the daughter that we were moving so it should come as no surprise that by the time we hit Richland we had lost at least two of the bungies and the tarp looked more like a giant blue grass skirt than rain protection. Fortunately we found a Wally World and bought thick plastic and brand new bungies all which made the trip in one piece.
Aside from moving 21 miles in an hour and thirty minutes due to about 4 feet of roadwork on Hwy 49 we were well on our way.
The rest of the drive was uneventful and rain free, thank you Jesus. In fact the rain finally came after we had unloaded and brought everything inside. Talk about an answer to prayer!
